Activities For Kids | World of Phalaenopsis, Ulu Yam
Anyway let me share with you one of the outings we enjoy, it was a short getaway to World of Phalaenopsis in Ulu Yam, the drive was just 60 minutes and the scenery was breathtaking especially when you take the Rawang Bypass, the tallest highway in Malaysia that cuts through Taman Warisan Negeri Selangor, offering a majestic view.
As we arrived at World of Phalaenopsis, the beautiful sight of a colorful orchid oasis greeted us as we enter the gates, visiting is absolutely free but being there really made me want to bring home the orchids, which I did because they were really worth buying, depending on the types and conditions, prices start from RM25 and goes up to a few hundred.
If orchids are not your thing, they also carry a wide variety of plants too like peace lily, succulents, and cactus but the orchids were the star.
Lunch was easily taken care of, there's an in-house cafe, choices of food were limited but price-wise was fair and most of it tasted absolutely delicious. We sat at tatami seated area but it wasn't air-conditioned which was not such a good idea, the cafe was like a greenhouse so it was crazy hot.
We ordered the Sate Chicken Chop with Nasi Impit & Acar RM18, Nasi Lemak Ayam Rendang RM12.90, and a serving of steamed yam cakes which weren't very fresh but I was just too lazy to return it since it was a really busy day, I was glad my food arrived.
Overall, I'm really glad we came all the way here. Those who are looking for an easy trip without traffic visiting World of Phalaenopsis won't disappoint. Here's a tip for those who want to visit, come early and if you can try to avoid weekends, it was really packed when we reached at 11am, plus with covid, I'll try to avoid crowds anywhere I go.
