Beaconhouse Teaches Their Pre-Schoolers to Create Their Own Dessert Pizza For Mother's Day

This year to celebrate Mother's Day, Beaconhouse Newlands Early Years, Bangsar gathered pre-schoolers to design and create their very own Dessert Pizzas to gift to their mothers to celebrate this special day to honor mothers and motherhood, this enables a great mother and child bonding session, as well as teaching the children the importance of appreciating their mothers.

Mummies and child had the opportunity to be creative and work together in creating a Dessert Pizza using Pizza Crusted sponsored by Mission Foods. First, the pizza is cut into a heart-shaped followed by adding in fruits, chocolate sauce, and sprinkles. This was then packed in a gift box with personalized hand-written notes for the children share with their working mothers or for the mothers who were unable to attend as a Mother’s Day gift.

Commenting on the event, Kelly Robb, Head of Beaconhouse Newlands Early Years Bangsar, said “Mother’s Day is a very special opportunity for all of us to celebrate and honor mothers for their never-ending sacrifices for their children and family. At Beaconhouse we place emphasis on family values. This activity is one of the ways we teach children to be expressive in the love for their mothers on Mother’s Day and every day.”

Following a long-held Beaconhouse tradition of life long learning, unique hands-on activities beyond the classroom help develop children in an impactful and engaging manner to further educate and empower them.

“To holistically develop students, it is important that they are given opportunities to explore their creative side instead of solely focusing on academic performances. Activities such as this empower children to be more independent and confident through meaningful tasks,” she added.
