[CLOSED] Sam Ro Thai Cuisine Damansara Jaya
A newly-opened establishment in Damansara Jaya, drop by Sam Ro Thai Cuisine, this humble Thai eatery serves authentic Thai food and it's very affordable. The restaurant is separated into two different sections a smoking area and a non-smoking area, for gatherings or those who would like a little bit of privacy, there is a private dining area as well.
Sam Ro Thai Cuisine is run by an experienced chef from Thailand with 20 years of experience. They serve a variety of Thai cuisine, authentic with a little twist of adaption to suit the local's palate. This place also serves fresh seafood directly from their farm, the prawns and fish were all fresh and juicy and priced seasonally.
Green Curry Chicken S RM18 M RM35
Thai green curry can be a truly superb dish, I absolutely love how they made it here, it was rich and creamy and the sweetness from the coconut cream made the curry perfect!
Thai Style Fried Kailan S RM13 M RM25
A simple stir-fry dish, they didn't overdo it with the sauce, it was just enough to season the greens and the kailan were crisp and filled with the flavor of the wok.
I’m a little obsessed with stink beans I could eat them every day. This dish is stir-fried with shrimp, curry paste and stink beans resulting in a crisp and ecstatically unique and flavorful. A must try!!
One of Thailand most well-known signature dishes, it was a good balance of sweet and sour, a tad spicy and generous amount of fresh seafood, I literally finished the whole thing on my own!
BBQ Pork Neck RM22
The pork neck was seasoned beautifully and the meat was flavourful, tender and very very juicy, this dish went really well with the dipping sauce which is made from Thai fish sauce, lime juice, garlic chili, and sugar.
Thai Style Coconut Seafood Otak-Otak RM22
If you love the creamy, coconutty goodness of lemak, I would be more than happy to recommend you this. Again they were really generous with the portions there were plenty of prawns and otak-otak.
Big Head Prawns Geng Som
I love this dish, it came with fresh big head prawns and lots of vegetables in it, the sauce was incredibly flavorful, spicy and tangy and it was great to have it while it's searing hot.
Authentic Thai Grilled Fish Recipe (Pla Pao ปลาเผา)
One of the famous street food in Thailand, it was nicely cooked and I enjoyed my juicy Thai Grilled Fish! The fish is coated in a thick layer of salt, slow roasted over charcoal, and eaten with a garlicky spicy chili dipping sauce known as sauce seafood.
Pla Ban Suan Fried Talapia
This fresh fish is deep fried till crisp and then topped condiments like with mango, ginger, garlic, peanuts, and cashew nuts. The wild pepper leaves on the side can then be eaten with the condiments.
Thai Style Lemon Steamed Grouper
The steamed fish had loads of flesh, firm, fresh and done just right, the overall flavor was sour, spicy, garlicky and well balanced in taste and it went really well with rice.
Mango Sticky Rice
Last but not least we ended dinner with the famous Thai dessert, Mango Sticky Rice. The portion was a little bit too big for me, I guess they could cut it down a little bit with the sticky rice but overall it was great.
I still couldn't stop reminiscing about those delicious Thai dishes I had, initially, we thought we could not finish everything but it was so good, we gobbled everything up. Sam Ro is one of the best Thai restaurants in my list and I could foresee myself being a regular here. Needless to say, I will be recommending Sam Ro Thai Cuisine to those who love Thai food, it is still relatively new for now but do yourself a favor and book a table soon!
