Every once in a while, I love to indulge with an afternoon tea, sipping tea while enjoying some sweet and savory delicious treat. I was lucky to catch myself for a high tea session at Cafés Richard in Sky Avenue Genting on my recent trip to Genting. The first step inside I have fallen in love with the interior, the set was in a very french vintage style, majorly black and white. For the best seating, you could sit in the atrium seating, which is right exactly under the ceiling of the entire building, the vibes were excellent with ample of sunlight coming in and that's where I got to enjoy the moments of the day with some French pastries and a good cup of tea.
To start off we ordered the Le Festin Parisian High Tea set which consisted their full selection of Patisserie, Dessert, and Savory items. Top to bottom there isn't a dish that disappointed me and this is one of the best flavors I've had so far considering myself an afternoon tea enthusiast. The tea sets came with a selection of Coffee, Slow Coffee, Tea or Chocolate Beverage.
My partner in crime was a coffee lover and never a day goes by he does not drink a cup of coffee. The waiter which was attending to us recommended us to try out the cold drip coffee, the process takes an average of 5-6 hours, the aroma of the coffee smelled really good, it was more concentrated and I loved how it didn't have the bitter aftertaste. Here's a tip! Cold drip coffee is best consumed neat and you could add more ice to it if you like. As for me, I got myself a lovely pot of Apple Cherry Black Tea.
Here come my favorite 3 tiers Le Festin High Tea set. The high tea set at Cafe Richard is notably one of the prettiest ones I have ever seen, they serve the pastries in a small chest of drawers, with a different selection in each, like canapes, eclairs, and macaroons.
We started with the savory selections, Crab Avacado, and Lemon zest salad, Foie Gras with Baguette and Caramelised Onion, Escargot stuffed with Garlic Parsley Butter and Mini Croque Monsieur. I liked all of it, especially the croque and escargot!
Followed by Crème Brûlée, Mousse au Chocolate - Chocolate Mousse, Crêpe filled with Vanilla Ice Cream, and Cherry Clafoutis.
Last but not least I've indulged myself with these beautiful treats which I absolutely love! Here are the treats - Macaroon, Strawberry Mille-feuille, Opera, and Butterscotch Éclair.
Cafés Richard in Sky Avenue Genting is another awesome place to have your high tea, not to mention the beautiful atmosphere with great food and drinks. It was a fine afternoon well spent with chit chats and delicious treats, special thanks to Resort World Genting for the kind invitation! We had a really good time and I am hoping to come back for more especially the macaroons.
