Sparkling wines and food are a fantastic pairing! Champagnes are fizzy, bubbly and fun, it is the most versatile wines and it goes along really well with most of the food except for red meat. Thanks to Eddy I got a chance to attend Signature @ The Roof new 3 course menu paired with Perrier-Jouët.
Made primarily from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, a good-quality Champagne are made with the traditional method, where the bubbles are created in individual bottles. Before the wines are bottled, yeast and sugar are added to the cuvée to start the second fermentation, the process creates CO2 which is trapped inside the bottle thus carbonating the wine.
Each dish has been carefully selected to bring out the flavoursome palette and aromatic notes of the Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut and Perrier-Jouët Blason Rose. Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut is delicate, elegant and balanced with florality and fruity fragrances while the Perrier-Jouët Blason Rose is sensual and voluptuous, fresh and intense champagne that features a more fruity fragrance.
For starters we had, Oyster shooters, I am no fan of oysters but these fresh oysters had me changing my mind. It was really fresh and I could still taste the seawater as I slurp it down and the shooter compliments the entire process.
Mushroom soup which was made up to perfection was served next with 3 sides - mushroom salad, garlic prawns and otak-otak dumpling. I enjoyed the dumpling the most among the sides, it resembles the local curry puffs without the puffs and I love it!
We had Flying Tandoor Chicken Pasta, Lamb Rack, Chicken Rice Ball, and Barramundi for our mains. The highlight of the main was the chicken rice ball, it was really creative! Chicken rice ball is originated from Melaka and it would never occur to me to deep fry it. It tasted so good I wish I had more than one ball. Another favourite was the lamb rack, it was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the lamb was juicy and tasty.
Experience the unforgettable combination with Perrier-Jouët Blason Rose and desserts. It was a perfect match with the Lychee Cheese Tart, Chocolate Brownie and Red Velvet.
It is my first time matching food with wine and it was a great dining experience. Thank you Perrier-Jouët and Signature @ The Roof for hosting such a great dinner.
